CORK YOGA MATS – ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Cork is a fantastic, eco-friendly material that is perfect for yoga mats. A cork yoga mat offers a perfect balance of
traction and comfortable cushioning. It is light-weight and antibacterial making it low maintenance and easy to
carry to and from yoga class.
Cork yoga mats are particularly popular with people practicing hot yoga; when the cork gets wet, the grip
improves – so the more you work, the harder you sweat, the better you grip! Cork mats are also a favourite for
experienced or acrobatic yogis as they offer a firm, stable grounding for advanced poses. Cork is also a well-loved
material for cork yoga blocks, due to its fantastic, grippy surface.
Although cork yoga mats are typically associated with a more advanced level of yoga, more and more beginners
are using cork mats for their practice. There are no rules when it comes to choosing a yoga mat except find what is
most comfortable to you. Many of our customers find that once they’ve experienced the earthy grip of a cork mat,
they can never go back!
